ROUNDUP: Rangers clinch share of WYL with stoppage PK

Redwood's Brittany Ontiveros scored a penalty kick in stoppage time to break a scoreless tie against El Diamante Tuesday night at Redwood.

The win, combined with Lemoore's 3-0 loss to Mt. Whitney, clinches a share of a second-consecutive West Yosemite League title for the Rangers (18-4-1, 9-1). A win Thursday against Golden West will give Redwood the league title outright.

Mt. Whitney 3, Lemoore 0: Tatum Perez scored in the 10th minute and dished out an assist in the 14th minute and the Pioneers defeated the Tigers in a WYL game.

Kendall McGovran scored in the 14th minute, and Ellie Warmerdam scored on an assist from Alicia Ruiz in the 76th minute to put the finishing touches on the win.

Goalkeeper Morgen Heath had five saves for the Pioneers (5-3-1, 10-5-2).

Exeter 3, Dinuba 2: Allie Johnson scored three goals and the Monarchs defeated the Emperors in a Central Sequoia League game in overtime.

Trailing 2-1, Exeter scored twice in the final two minutes of overtime. Johnson scored on a direct kick from about 30 yards out to tie the game, and she scored on a penalty kick in the final seconds to give Exeter (9-7-1, 4-2-1) the win.

Boys Soccer

Farmersville 3, Orosi 3: Freddy Vazquez recorded a hat-trick, including a goal in the 71st minute to force overtime and the Aztecs tied the Cardinals in an East Sierra League game.

Farmersville goalkeeper Ruben Valencia stayed busy with nine saves.

The Aztecs (17-3-3, 5-0-1) play at Orange Cove on Friday.

CVC 8, Immanuel 0: The Cavaliers routed the Cavaliers in a Central Sequoia League game in Visalia.

Michael Rosa had two goals to lead CVC (10-8-1, 2-4-1. Blake Jacobi, normally CVC's goalkeeper, also scored.

Boys Basketball

Exeter 48, Dinuba 41: Jordan Bayne scored 16 points as the Monarchs beat the Emperors 48-41 in Central Sequoia League game in Exeter.

Caleb Harden scored 10 points for Exeter (16-4, 3-2). Aaron Taylor led Dinuba (18-4, 3-2) with nine points.

Girls Basketball

Hanford 71, Golden West 20: Jordyn Street finished with 12 points in the Trailblazers' WYL loss to the Bullpups.

Street scored all her points on four 3-pointers.

Golden West fell to 2-5 in the WYL and 7-12 overall.

Redwood 55, Hanford West 36: Jasmine Black had 22 points to lead the Rangers over the Huskies in a WYL game at Redwood.

Taylor Carter added 12 points for Redwood (17-5, 6-2).
