2012 All-Tulare County Girls Golf Team

Highlights: The West Yosemite League champion finished with a 37.20 scoring average for nine holes. She placed second at the Central Area tournament with an 81 over 18 holes. She placed fourth at the Central Section tournament with a 77 over 18 holes and shot an 84 over 18 holes at the CIF Southern California regional championship.

Comments: "Our team anchor and captain, she was also selected as the team's MVP. She repeatedly represented Redwood at the southern CA regional tournament. A graduating senior, she will be greatly missed." -- Redwood coach Freddie Swing

Taylor Santiago

School: Redwood

Grade: Senior

Highlights: A 42.80 scoring average for nine holes placed her fifth in the West Yosemite League standings. She finished sixth at the Central Area tournament with a 90 to qualify for the Central Section tournament, where she finished two strokes away from advancing to the CIF Southern California regional tournament.

Comments: "Taylor was a very hard working member of the team. When she was struggling with her game, she didn't give up, but instead persevered to turn things around." -- Redwood coach Freddie Swing

Hannah Price

Hannah Price

School: Mission Oak

Grade: Sophomore

Highlights: The East Yosemite League champion consistently shot in the low 40's in nine-hole matches. She finished 14th at the Central Area individual tournament with a 95, and tied for 12th in the Central Section individual tournament with an 86. Although the Central Section's Top 12 advance to the CIF Southern California regional tournament, Price was officially listed at 14th and kept out by tiebreakers.

Comments: "All year as a sophomore she was the team leader. She practiced constantly and made the new players feel comfortable. She's an athlete that I would use as an example to others. Think of everything positive; that would describe Hannah." -- Mission Oak coach Marlene Luiz

School: Tulare Union

Grade: Junior

Highlights: The East Yosemite League runner-up missed a league title by one stroke with an 87. She was named most valuable player of her team after averaging 42 in nine-hole matches and qualifying for the Central Section individual tournament with an eighth-place finish at the Central Area tournament, where she shot 94.

Comments: "Brai has really battled through a terrible injury problem to both wrists. She literally could not swing a club a couple days a week. This never stopped her from giving it her best and shooting great scores. In two years of pain, she missed one match. Brai is double tough." -- Tulare Union coach Mark Hatton

Jamie Byerlee

School: Redwood

Grade: Sophomore

Highlights: A 43.80 scoring average for nine holes placed her sixth in the West Yosemite League standings. She finished eighth at the Central Area tournament with a 94 to qualify for the Central Section tournament.

Comments: "Jamie is a young lady with an incredible attitude and great spirit. She truly loves the game of golf, and I look forward to her being a strong contributor to the team for the next two years." -- Redwood coach Freddie Swing
