Seffner, Fl - Lightning and heavy rain delayed the start of the Class 6A district 8 game Sickles at Armwood for nearly 45 minutes.

Once the game began, lightning stuck again, when senior Bilal Salat took the pening kickoff 93-yards for the games first score.

The wet conditions hurt both teams in the first half.   Armwood's Leon McQuay III picked up a loose ball and returned it 22-yards for the Hawks first score.

Sickles quarterback Nate Mills scored on a 2-yard run, capping a 70-yard drive, giving the Gryphons a 16-6 lead late in the first half.

Armwood quarterback Darrly Richardson hit Shedaul Price for a two yard score, gutting Sickles lead to 16-13 at the half.

In the second half, the Hawks defense stiffened, allowing Sickles only 30 total yards in the second half.

Late in the fourth, Armwood drove 86 yards, with Richardson running in from 15-yards, helping the Hawks rally for the second consecutive week.

Armwood (5-1, 3-0) takes on Strawberry Crest next week, with Sickles (3-2, 1-1) playing on the road again at Hillsborough.
