TAMPA, Florida -- Plant High School head coach Robert Weiner told 10 News Friday evening at the Under Armour All-American game that he would leave his job at the school "if it was the right situation." Weiner has now reportedly found that right situation, accepting a job as wide receivers coach for the University of South Florida.
Weiner built the Plant Panthers program into a national powerhouse over his nine seasons. Plant captured four class 8A state titles and competed in five state championship contests since Weiner took over in 2004.
Weiner's hiring gives Bulls Head Coach Willie Taggart another recruiting tool in the state of Florida to utilize.
