Jesuit wins, moves on to 5A state championship game

Lakeland, FL-- The Jesuit HS Tigers hung on to defeat Jacksonville Bishop Kenny, 46-41, in the 5A state semifinal game. They'll play for the state championship on Saturday.

The Tigers jumped out to a 15-point lead early in the third quarter, before Bishop Kenny began their comeback.  They closed the gap to 2 points in the final minute, but Jesuit held on.

Joey Galvis led the Tigers with 16 points.  Devin Harris added 15.

Jesuit will play Plantation American Heritage HS for the 5A championship, Saturday morning at 10:05.  They last won a state championship in 1984.
