Durant, Fl - Any worries about a letdown, after Durant's big win last Friday against Plant City, were quickly forgotten. The Cougars took control and never let off the gas, easily defeating Chamberlain 49-0.
On Durant's opening possession, Zach Hooper scored the first of his two touchdowns. 30 seconds later, Jamarlon Hamilton rushed his way into the endzone, and two and a half minutes after that, it was Hamilton again, scoring the second of his four rushing touchdowns. Hamilton finished with 132 yards rushing and four touchdowns, all from the first half.
The defense also played well, recording their third shutout of the season. They also recorded two safeties, forced three turnovers and had three sacks.
Next Friday, Durant (2-0, 6-0) hosts Newsome (2-0, 3-3) in a key Class 7A District 8 game.
