Seffner, Florida -- Leon McQuay III has always felt most comfortable on the football field. Now, he needs to pick a field where he'll feel comfortable for the next four years of his life.
The Armwood senior safety is still undecided when it comes to picking a college to play football for a year from now. Along with standout teammate Alvin Bailey, McQuay was named to the Under Armour All-America High School Football roster on Tuesday. The Hawks teammates will suit up in the showcase game designed to feature the top 90 high school players in the nation on January 4th at Tropicana Field.
Bailey is committed to play for the Florida Gators. He drew laughter from media members this morning when he began dropping obvious hints for where he wants his Hawks teammate to play football next fall while McQuay tried to answer recruiting questions from reporters.
McQuay is ranked as the No. 3 safety in the nation by ESPN. He's expected to attend the Michigan State- Michigan game this weekend and is scheduled to take official visits to Oregon (10/27), Michigan (11/9) and Florida State (11/24).
Armwood plays Hillsborough this weekend followed by a huge bragging rights game against Plant.
