Gainesville, Florida -- Armwood High School had its 6A state football championship stripped by the Florida High School Athletic Association, and its program was fined more than $12,000.

The penalties were the result of a six month investigation of Armwood's football program.  It found that the families of five players falsified their addresses so they could play for the school.

Armwood has to forfeit every game the players participated in, during the 2011 season, in which the Hawks finished 15-0 and won the state championship.  Armwood also has to forfeit 11 games from 2010 that the players participated in.

The program was also fined $12,743.46 for investigative costs, and allowing the ineligible players to participate.

Armwood did not contest any of the charges.
