1:00 AM, Aug. 29, 2013 EDT

Garretson's Matt Johnson looks upfield during a game against Tri-Valley last season. Garretson reclassified to Class 9AA this season. / Jay Pickthorn / Argus Leader

Garretson drops down from 11-man and joins the conference. Chester also joins the conference, while Gayville-Volin went from the TVC to the Great Plains. Chester lost standout Brock Reinhiller, who transferred to Dell Rapids.

Viborg-Hurley reached the 9B semifinals last year and returns standout QB-DB Jack Huether. The Cougars are a slight favorite to win the title with Garretson, Irene-Wakonda, Parker and Alcester-Hudson also in the mix.
