ELK GROVE, CA - The (2) Pleasant Grove Eagles opened up their Sac-Joaquin Division I Boys High School Basketball Playoffs by defeating the (15) Armijo Indians 75-62 on Wednesday night.
The Indians went on a run to open the third period to cut the Eagles lead to single digits, but Pleassant Grove defended Armijo's run with quick scoring.
Pleasant Grove (21-5) advances to Friday's second round where they will host Elk Grove rival the (7) Franklin Wildcats, who narrowly defeated (10) Turlock 67-65 on Wednesday.
