SACRAMENTO, CA - After another exciting season of high school football, the Sac-Joaquin Section Playoffs for 2012 are set. The number one seeds include: D-I Franklin(10-0), D-II Folsom (10-0), D-III Oakdale (9-1), D-IV Placer (10-0), D-V Waterford (8-2), D-VI Foresthill (9-1). The first rounds for each of the divisions begin on November 9. Here are the breakdowns for all six of the Sac-Joaquin Divisions:
DIVISION I: CIF Sac-Joaquin Division One Bracket
The (10-0) Franklin Wildcats finish their perfect season landing the top seed for the first time in school history. The Wildcats have had some impressive wins in the regular season, including handing local rival Elk Grove (9-1) their one and only loss. Coming in with the second seed is the (10-0) Burbank Titans, who have a tough road, facing (5-5) Grant in the first round and potentially Pleasant Grove (6-4) in the second round.
The (10-0) Folsom Bulldogs lands the first seed after winning the Delta River Title for third time in four years. Folsom faces a tough division this season with Antelope (9-1), Elk Grove (9-1) and of course the second seed, Yuba City (9-1). The Yuba City Honkers do face the always-challenging Del Oro (5-5) Golden Eagles in the first round, however.
Leading the competitive D-III section this season, the Oakdale Mustangs (9-1) land the first seed after winning the Valley oak Title for the 6th time in a row. The Mustangs have some impressive wins under their belt this season, blowing out both Weston Ranch and Lathrop. For the second seed, Vista Del Lago (9-1) led by Coach Chris Jones looks to make the playoffs for just the second time in school history.
The Placer (10-0) Hillmen get the first seed after netting the Pioneer Valley Title for the first time in 8 years. Placer has a hard path to victory with the potential match against last year's number one seed and second place winner, Escalon (8-2). This season's number two seed, Argonaut (10-0) has had a fantastic, undefeated season with big wins over River City, Calavares and Thunder Mountain.
The (4-1) Waterford Wildcats have the first seed as well as a bye in the first round, facing either Bradshaw Christian (5-5) or Highlands (6-4) in the second round. The Wildcats have had quite the season, with four blowout victories. Coming in the second seed is Golden Sierra (7-3) who also has a bye in the first round.
After winning the Sacramento Metro Title, Foresthill (9-1) nabs the first seed in D-VI. Foresthill looks to rebound this year in the playoffs after losing the Championship game to Bradshaw Christian last season. Second seeded Brookside Christian (8-2) is coming off an powerful blowout win over Millennium, 72-0 from Saturday Morning.
