SACRAMENTO, CA - The top seeded Franklin Wildcats will host the eighth seeded Lincoln Trojans in round two of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I Playoffs, Friday night.
Last season, both teams found themselves in the same playoffs spot, ending up with Lincoln winning and moving forward to the third round. However, Franklin has been firing on all cylinders this season making this a very competitive round two matchup.
The Lincoln Trojans feature a fairly balanced offense, averaging 129 passing yards and 150 rushing yards per game. Senior quarterback Zach Greenlee leads the Trojans with 11 touchdowns with a total of 1,129 passing yards. Greenlee is backed up by senior running back Justin Davis who has netted 10 touchdowns, rushing for 830 yards this season.
Meanwhile, the Franklin Wildcats have a very rush-heavy offense, averaging 245 rushing yards and 150 passing yards. Senior quarterback Trent Spallas has passed for 1,106 yards, netting 6 touchdowns for the season. On the other end, senior running back Kyran Harris has rushed for 830 yards with a total of 15 touchdowns this season.
On the defensive end, the Wildcats have had a great undefeated season, allowing only four teams to score in the double digits. Franklin also totaled 668 tackles this year with 33 sacks.
Lincoln boasts a few great wins as well this season over Bear River, Pleasant Grove and Granite Bay. Additionally, the Trojans totaled 453 tackles this year with nine sacks.
