ELK GROVE, CA - 18 student athletes from six high schools in the Elk Grove Unified District signed letters of intent and received college athletic scholarships on Wednesday.
Among them, two standouts from the Pleasant Grove Eagles football team - wide receiver and defensive back Cole Hikutini and quarterback Cody Demps, who are both headed to Sacramento State.
While Hikutini will receive a football scholarship, Demps will play basketball for the Hornets.
