Wyatt Hudson scored a pair of touchdowns as the Virginia City football team beat Wells, 26-14, in the first round of the Division IV North playoffs on Saturday in Virginia City.
The Muckers advanced to the Div. IV state semifinals and will play Spring Mountain at 1 p.m. next Saturday in Virginia City.
The other state semifinal is Carlin at Pahranagat Valley, also at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Kregg Lemon and Steven Punchard also scored for Virginia City. Lemon racked up 136 yards on 18 carries.
Hudson had 71 yards on 10 carries and quarterbacked the team to an 11-for-18 passing performance for 222 yards.
Wyatt Gibbs scored Wells' two touchdowns.

SPARKS 3, TRUCKEE 0 at Elko: The Railroaders shut out the Wolverines to claim the Div. I-A North regional championship.
Hector Hernandez scored two goals and Rueben Pacheco scored the other.
Sparks heads into the Div. I-A state tournament as the top seed with a 25-1 overall record. Truckee also advanced to state as the second seed.
