Roundup: Galena boys run past Reed

Kirk Gunderson scored 14 points to lead the Galena boys basketball team to a 52-43 win over Reed in a Division I game Saturday in Sparks.

EJ Poulsen (11 points) and Caleb Wood (12) also reached double-figures for the Grizzles (21-5 overall, 11-3 league), who have clinched second place in the Sierra League.

Reed's Alonzo Vega and Devin Gray each scored 13 points. The loss was the second in two days for the Raiders (14-9, 8-6 High Desert).

Girls basketball

TRUCKEE 56, SPARKS 25 at Truckee: Kaylee Neill and Jackie Bolton each scored 11 points to lead the Wolverines.

Katey Hamill added eight points. Krystal Parker hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored a game-high 12 points for the Railroaders.

FALLON 56, YERINGTON 30 at Fallon: Hannah Lindsay scored 10 points to lead the Greenwave (16-8). Fallon had 10 players score at least two points.

For Yerington, Celine Bethel scored 12 points.

INCLINE 56, NORTH TAHOE 27 at Incline: Kortney Solis sank six 3-pointers on her way to scoring 19 points to lead all scorers.

Teammate Kerrie Tonking had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Highlanders. North Tahoe's Elizabeth Buhler scored 11 points.

MINERAL COUNTY 62, PYRAMID LAKE 25: Shari Shakir scored 18 points, helping Mineral County bump its winning streak to 15 games.

Brittany McFalls added 11 points. Shaliah Johns scored eight points for Pyramid Lake.

Boys basketball

ELKO 88, WEST WENDOVER 54 at West Wendover: Elko's Nathan Klekas made a pair of 3-pointers en route to scoring 23 points.

Tim Meo added 17 points. For West Wendover, Manny Flores scored 20.

SIERRA LUTHERAN 59, COLEVILLE 33 at Carson: Alex Borgman had 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Falcons.

Michael Patrick (15 points) and Nick Walker (11 points) also reached double figures. Seth Huhta and Joel Gomez each scored nine points for Coleville.

PYRAMID LAKE 53, MINERAL COUNTY 52 at Hawthorne: Richard Barlese scored 17 points to lead the Lakers.

Sam Harry added 13 points, including four 3-pointers. Mineral County's Tyshawn Bonner hit five 3-pointers on the way to scoring 21 points.
