High school roundup: Wood scores 30, Galena boys roll past Damonte Ranch

Caleb Wood scored 30 points to lead Galena past Damonte Ranch, 84-67, in boys basketball Friday at Galena.

Kirk Gunderson added 16 for Galena (23-5 13-3).

David Crowley scored 22 points for the Mustangs, Kyle Daugherty had 18 and Justin Bridgman added 15.

Boys basketball

BISHOP MANOGUE 85, WOOSTER 65 at Wooster: Remy Dillard scored 23 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Miners. Anthony Salerno had 19 points and James Sandoval had 17 points, with five 3-pointers.

Deshawn Pughsley had 18 points for the Colts, JJ Harloff added 15 and Josh Carnemolla had 11.

DOUGLAS 44, CARSON 34 at Carson: Hunter Myers led the Tigers with 21 points and Austin Evans added eight. Douglas finishes the season 15-1 in the Sierra League. Carson's Rafferty king scored 13 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

HUG 72, NORTH VALLEYS 61 at Hug: The Hawks closed out the High Desert-winning regular season with a win.

Sam Williams scored 31 points to lead Hug (20-6, 13-3 High Desert), which also got 18 points from Raymond Kerr. North Valleys (4-20, 0-16) got 15 points from Jalil Walker and 14 from Mauricio Varela.

PYRAMID LAKE 73, SIERRA LUTHERAN 57 at Sierra Lutheran: John Barlese scored 36 points to lead the Lakers. Carson Iverson made five 3s for a total of 15 points for Sierra Lutheran.

MINERAL COUNTY 52, SMITH VALLEY 28 at Hawthorne: Austin Milks scored 14 points to lead the Serpents (7-4 Division IV). Mauro Viani added nine points. Rodrigo Perez scored 13 points for Smith Valley.

Girls basketball

RENO 75, McQUEEN 36 at Reno: Mallory McGwire scored 17 points to lead the Huskies, who clicnhed the High Desert's No. 1 seed. Gigi Hascheff added 12 points. Emma White hit four 3s en route to 21 points for the Lancers.

BISHOP MANOGUE 71, WOOSTER 22 at Wooster: Hannah Santos hit a pair of 3-pointers en route to scoring 14 points to lead the Miners. Kelly Lujan and Brianna Holt each scored 13 points. For Wooster, Alexes Rodriguez and Jolene Fry both scored five points.

DAMONTE 45, GALENA 41 at Galena: Morgan Waller scored 18 points and Darby Menghini added 10 for the Mustangs. Kaitlyn Hawthorne had a game-high 20 points for the Grizzlies.

HUG 58, NORTH VALLEYS 55 at Hug: Jamilla Anderson led the Hawks with 19 points and Mele Lotulelei scored 18 points. Haley Bowen scored a game-high 22 points for the Panthers.

TRUCKEE 50, NORTH TAHOE 27 at Truckee: Sydnie English scored 10 points to lead the Wolverines (9-1 Mount Rose League). Ashley Harris made two 3-pointers, finishing with nine points.

SOUTH TAHOE 42, SPARKS 23 at South Tahoe: Hannah Neiger scored 13 points and Riley Chapman added 12 points to lead the Vikings. Krstyal Parker hit four 3-pointers on her way to scoring 14 points to pace the Railroaders.

FALLON 54, DAYTON 24 at Fallon: Cady Cordes scored 18 points and Shayna Hicks added 13 for the Greenwave (17-8), who will be the No. 3 seed for next week's Division I-A regional.

PERSHING COUNTY 71, YERINGTON 30 at Lovelock: Senior Sarita Jo Condie finished with 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists to lead the Mustangs (10-0 Division III). Angela Sciarani scored nine points for Yerington.

BATTLE MOUNTAIN 58, WEST WENDOVER 36 at Battle Mountain: Caitlyn Warwood scored 16 points and Kelsey Kroll added nine for the Longhorns. For West Wendover, Ryan Gentry (12 points) and Carina Esparza (11 points) reached double-figures.

VIRGINIA CITY 58, COLEVILLE 24 at Coleville: Keana Fielding scored 20 points and Corinan Obermayr added 14 to lead the Muckers (8-3 Division IV).
