High school roundup: Galena boys rout Wooster

Max Erickson scored 14 points to lead five Galena players in double figures as the Grizzlies downed Wooster 78-49, Friday in boys basketball at Galena.

Caleb Wood had 13 points, Trevor Larsen added 12 and Zack Lessinger and Kirk Gunderson each had 11 for Galena (14-3 overall, 4-1 league).

Deshawn Pughsley led Wooster (5-7) with 16 points and JJ Harloff added 15.

Boys Basketball

LOWRY 59, FERNLEY 35 at Fernley: Josh Watterson scored 14 points and Jesse Studebaker added 10 for the Buckaroos.

Kevin Montgomery led the Vaqueros with 14 points and Tim Klotz added 13.

PERSHING COUNTY 69, BATTLE MTN 44 at Pershing County: Jacob Adams scored 22 points, Seth Montes had 12, Lane Chambers added 11 and Terrell George had 10 for the Mustangs.

Daniel Itza and Dwight Douglas each had 11 for the Longhorns.

ELKO 70, TRUCKEE 25 at Elko: Nathan Klekas scored 13 points to lead the Indians (7-2, 3-0).

Tim Meo added 12 points and Tubby Rausch had 11 for Elko.

Girls basketball

GALENA 57, WOOSTER 54 at Galena: Paige Brown scored 19 points and Kaitlyn Hawthorne added 13, including two 3-pointers, as the Grizzlies (3-7) edged the Colts.

Alexes Rodriguez led all scorers with 24 points, including five 3-pointers, for the Colts,.

PERSHING COUNTY 59, BATTLE MOUNTAIN 15 at Pershing County: Sarita Jo Condie scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Mustangs.

Samantha Dennler added 11 points for the Mustangs (15-2).

Hannah Hale and Abbie Mikelson each scored six points for the Longhorns (9-5).

LOWRY 32, FERNLEY 29 at Fernley: Alyssa Dendary and Taylor Schwartz each scored nine points to lead the Buckaroos.

For Fernley (3-8, 0-2), Jordan King had 13 points.
