High school basketball: Williams scores 45 as Hug races past Reno

Sam Williams scored 45 points, on 18-of-23 shooting from the field, to lead Hug past Reno, 83-64, Tuesday night in boys basketball at Hug.

Williams also grabbed 12 rebounds and hit two 3-pointers.

For Reno, Connor Bush had 13 points and Kyle Mahaffey added 11.

Boys Basketball

DOUGLAS 61, DAMONTE RANCH 51 AT Damonte Ranch: Pat Johnson and Hunter Myers each scored 17 points to lead the Tigers.

For Damonte Ranch, David Crowley poured in a game-high 20 points.

CARSON 50, WOOSTER 43 at Wooster: Matthew Nolan scored 18 points and Rafferty King added 14 to lead the Senators.

For the Colts, Deshawn Pughsley had 15 points and JJ Harloff added 13.

SPARKS 58, FERNLEY 44 AT Sparks: D.J. Devin scores 16 points and Bobby Brown added 14 to lead the Railroaders, who pulled away in the second quarter, to the Division I-A North victory.

Tim Klutz led the Vaqueros with 14 points, and Joey Silas added 10.

Girls basketball

REED 71, NORTH VALLEYS 32 at North Valleys: Gabby Williams scored 31 points and Tyler Sumpter added 12 to lead the Raiders.

Haley Bowen led the Panthers with 15 points.

SPANISH SPRINGS 65, MCQUEEN 29 at McQueen: Riley Holladay scored 17 points and Lyndsey Anderson added 16 to lead the Cougars.

Lanesha Terrance had 12 points for the Cougars.

Emma White led the Lancers with 13 points and Christina Farman added 10.

DOUGLAS 44, DAMONTE RANCH 34 at Damonte Ranch: Diana Regaldo scored 16 points and Desiree Cage and Corryne Millett each added 10 for the Tigers.

Bianca Camara and Darby Mengini each scored eight for the Mustangs.

BISHOP MANOGUE 59, GALENA 21 at Manogue: Gabbi Concepcion scored 14 points, including a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

Hannah Santos knocked down three 3-pointers en route to 13 points for the Miners.

Paige Brown and Alexia Carlson each scored six points for the Grizzlies.

CARSON 53, WOOSTER 39 at Wooster: Elena Thurman scored 10 points to lead the Senators.

Natali Salas and Savannah Smith each added eight points.

For the Colts, Summer Dressler led all scorers with 17 points, while Alexes Rodriguez added 12.

RENO 77, HUG 40 at Hug: Morgan McGwire scored 17 points to lead the Huskies.

Savannah Schulze added 12 points and Mallory McGwire had 10 for Reno.

Jamilla Anderson led Hug with 13 points and Shania Carthen added 10.
