Basketball roundup: Reed downs Carson

Reed's Trae Wells scored 25 points at home, defeating Carson, 69-62, Tuesday in a Division I boys basketball game. Alonzo Vega hit six 3-pointers en route to scoring 20 points for the Raiders, who improved to 6-4 in the High Desert League.

The Senators' Rafferty King made five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 30 points. Teammate Chris Lopez added 15 points.

RENO 71, DAMONTE RANCH 39 at Damonte: Gigi Hascheff scored 15 points and Morgan Taylor added 12 for the Huskies.

Morgan Waller led the Mustangs with 12 points and Adelle Oaks added 10.

BISHOP MANOGUE 74, HUG 25 at Manogue: Brianan Holt and Gabbi Concepcion each scored 13 points to lead the Miners.

Concepcion had three 3-pointers for Manogue (17-1, 10-1 league).

Mele Lotulelei led the Hawks with 15 points.

NORTH VALLEYS 48, DOUGLAS 43 at North Valleys: With 25 seconds left to play Haley Bowen hit a field-goal and a free-throw to put the Panthers ahead. Bowen finished with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Taylor Dockter added 12 points and seven rebounds. For the Tigers Diana Regaldo scored a game-high 18 points.

MCQUEEN 62, WOOSTER 38 at McQueen: Emma White knocked down six 3-pointers en route to scoring 28 points to lead the Lancers.

Christina Farman added 15.

For Wooster, Tara Garcia (13) and Jolene Fry (12) were in double-digit scoring.

INCLINE 48, WHITTELL 24 at Incline: Molly Franklin hit a pair of 3-pointers on her way to scoring 13 points for the Highlanders.

Kerrie Tonking added 12 points.

Amanda Harris scored 13 points to lead the Warriors.

MINERAL COUNTY 54, ROUND MOUNTAIN 16 at Mineral County: Brittany McFalls scored 16 points for Mineral County (19-2, 7-0 league).

Teammate Shari Shakir scored nine points. Alyssa Jenez finished with 10 points for the Knights.

SPRING CEEK 48, LOWRY 30 at Winnemucca: Arrayana Edwards scored 15 points and Shawntel Andersen aded 11 to lead the Spartans.

ELKO 64, BATTLE MOUNTAIN 37 at Elko: Shay Digenan scored 15 points for Elko. Anna Dubois (11) and Raelynn Forcella (10) were also in double-digit scoring. Abbie Mikelson scored 10 points for Battle Mountain.

FERNLEY 48, DAYTON 28 at Fernley: Jordan King led the Vaqueros with 11 points. Teammate Penny Kernes added 10 points. For the Dust Devils Maribel Ledezma scored 10 points.

TRUCKEE 45, SOUTH TAHOE 27 at Truckee: Sydnie English led Truckee with 14 points and Jackie Bolton added 10.

Boys Basketball

SPANISH SPRINGS 59, GALENA 53 at Spanish Springs: Kenny Meyer shot 14-of-16 from the free throw line and finished with 24 points to lead the Cougars. TJ McCauley scored 14 points and Austin Damoth added 11 points. For the Grizzlies, Caleb Wood scored 22 points.

DOUGLAS 72, NORTH VALLEYS 43 at North Valleys: Austin Evans hit a pair of 3-pointers en route to scoring 14 points. Joseph Syammach scored 11 and Pat Johnson added 10 points. The Panthers' Jalil Walker finished with 10 points.

FERNLEY 64, DAYTON 42 at Fernley: Tim Klotz scored 18 points and Kevin Montgomery added 14 points to lead the Vaqueros. Marcos Saylor finished with 12 points for the Dust Devils.
