The NIAA tonight will honor Northern Nevada's top 10 senior student-athletes at its annual Top 10 Student-Athletes of the Year award program banquet at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino.

Bishop Manogue High senior Bailey Oos-Johns on Wednesday signed her letter of intent to play college softball at Willamette University in Salem, Ore. The Bearcats play in the Northwest Conference.

Jordan King was pulled from the game with her team down four runs in the seventh inning so she could prepare to pitch the winner-take-all state championship 30 minutes later. But thanks to a feverish comeback under the hot sun Saturday and multiple costly mistakes by Fallon, Fernley's King rounded second and headed for home for the winning run less than 10 minutes later. King scored easily on Fallon's fourth error of the inning and seventh of the game to cap a five-run seventh and lift the Vaqueros to a 14-13 victory and the Division I-A state championship at UNLV.
