Boys basketball: Arlington earns tournament title

12:00 AM, Dec. 09, 2012 EST

Outscoring the host Hornets by seven in the final period, the Arlington High School boys basketball team defeated Lakeland on Saturday, 58-47, in the finals of the Carolyn Conroy Tournament in Shrub Oak.

The duo of Will Kurdziel and Mike Duffy keyed the Arlington effort, each scoring 15 points, splitting the Admirals' six 3-pointers made. Ericco Feaster and Jayson Leigh provided 10 points apiece in the win. "This was good," Arlington coach Matt Hoyt said. "Last year we were in the same tournament and we lost to Mahopac in the final. It was good to come out and start the season with two wins. "It was a good confidence builder for our guys." Arlington (2-0) visits Carmel on Tuesday.
