'The Shot' ranks among best moments at 'The Mecca'

(NEWS CENTER)-- It has been well publicized that this is the final basketball tournament to be played at the place known as 'the Mecca', the Bangor Auditorium. After decades upon decades and thousands of games, the building will be torn down and a new Auditorium is already built.

There has been a lot of debate over what the greatest moments in the history of the Mecca have been. One moment that always gets mentioned near or at the top of the list is the 1969 State Championship game between Caribou and Westbrook. A game that NEWS CENTER Sports Director Lee Goldberg re-visited back in 2000.
