PC's Day has a big week in Delaware

Meigan Day (Port Clinton 2012) provided two admirable performances since Oct. 20.

On Oct. 27, the freshman provided 14 kills, six digs and four blocks for Ohio Wesleyan (11-16, 2-6) in a North Coast Athletic Conferenceloss at Oberlin (9-16, 1-7), 3-2.

On Oct. 20, Day contributed 11 kills, four digs and one block for the Battling Bishops in a 3-2 at Wooster (17-12, 4-4) in Delaware, Ohio.

For the season, Day has compiled 195 kills, 80 digs and 54 blocks.

Alyssa Meis (Genoa 2011) totaled 15 kills and hone win over Columbus State Community College (24-7, 10-2), 3-1. For the season, the sophomore has compiled 488 kills, 458 digs, and 44 blocks.

FOOTBALL

Ben St. John (Woodmore 2010) is a reserve offensive lineman for No. 6 Ohio State (9-0, 5-0), listed at 6-3, 285 pounds.

Jarrod Cox (Port Clinton 2008) has started and played, at linebacker, in six games for No. 23 Grand Valley State (7-2, 6-2). The Lakers won on the road Saturday 42-23 at No. 24 Hillsdale (6-3, 6-2) in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play in Hillsdale, Mich. Both teams were ranked among the Top 25 at the time.

For the season, the redshirt senior has provided 23 tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass breakup and one forced fumble.

Ben Adams (Danbury 2012) is a freshman linebacker for Lake Erie (3-6, 3-5), which won 27-20 in GLIAC play Saturday at Walsh (3-6, 2-6).

Jon Sandwisch (Woodmore 2012) has participated in two games at quarterback for No. 14 Heidelberg (7-1, 6-1). He has completed one pass for nine yards, with two rushes for 11 yards. On Saturday, the Student Princes fell in Ohio Athletic Conference play in Alliance at No. 1 Mount Union (8-0, 7-0), 33-14.

Blair Skilliter (Genoa 2009) rushed for 97 yards on 19 attempts, with one TD, for Mount Union against Heidelberg. For the season, the senior has contributed on offense, defense and special teams for the Purple Raiders. Skilliter has compiled 284 yards rushing on 46 attempts with five rushing TDs. He has three receptions for 51 yards and one score. He has four kick returns for 176 yards and one TD. As a defensive back, he has compiled nine tackles and one tackle for loss.

Dakota Hruby (Danbury 2011) participated as a 6-1, 180-pound defensive lineman for Wilmington (1-7, 1-6) in a 34-7 loss in OAC play against John Carroll (6-2, 5-2) in University Heights. For the season, the sophomore has participated in seven games and recorded one tackle.

MENS GOLF

Marcus Hunt (Port Clinton 2010) was Findlay's No. 1 player at the GLIAC Championships on Oct. 16 at Elyria Country Club. The junior finished 15th with a score of 226 (80-73-73) for the Oilers, who finished ninth in the team standing at 926. Grand Valley State won the championship with a team score of 880.

Kevin Hiller (Port Clinton 2012) finished 58th for Heidelberg at the Mount Union Fall Classic on Sept. 30 with a score of 175 (91-84) to lead the Student Princes to a seventh-place finish at 705. Ohio Northern won the meet with a 591.

MENS SOCCER

Tyler Eoff (Oak Harbor 2011) provided one shot on goal as a starter for Heidelberg (9-6-1, 4-2-2) in a tie on Wednesday in OAC play in University Heights at John Carroll (8-6-3, 4-1-3), 1-1. For the season, the sophomore has participated in every game and started in 15. He has contributed four goals and one assist for the Student Princes.

Jacob Hetrick (Oak Harbor 2012) contributed one shot on goal as a starter for Heidelberg. For the season, the freshman has participated in every game and started in 15 to provide two shots and one shot on goal.

Trent Lacer (Oak Harbor 2012) has compiled four saves as a goal keeper for Heidelberg.

Cody Maye (Woodmore 2012) is a member of Defiance, which is 3-15-1 and 3-5-1 in OAC play.

WOMENS SOCCER

Melanie Gregory (Genoa 2012) has participated in two games at midfield for Owens.

Taylor Avers (Woodmore 2012) is a reserve goal keeper for the Express.

Alex Weirich (Oak Harbor 2012) has contributed two goals in 15 games with one start for Ohio Northern (11-4-4, 5-3-1). On Saturday, the Polar Bears won 2-1 in Westerville in OAC play against Otterbein (13-6, 8-1).

Amber Moomey (Oak Harbor 2012) has participated in one game for Mount Union (9-6-4, 4-3-2). On Oct. 24, The Purple Raiders defeated Bluffton 1-0 in OAC play.

Chelsie Kamann (Oak Harbor 2012) is a goal keeper for Mount Union.

TENNIS

Chelsea Beck (Port Clinton 2009) contributed in wins at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles for Tiffin in a 5-4 loss Oct. 14 in GLIAC play against Ferris State (10-5, 9-5) in Big Rapids, Mich. In the contest, the senior won 6-1, 6-1 against Jessica Swanson and teamed with Abigail Shuster for an 8-6 win against Sydnie Sine and Janie Sell. For the season, Beck holds a singles record of 8-8 and a doubles record of 9-7.

VOLLEYBALL

Jessie Miedema (Port Clinton 2010) provided eight digs for Radford (Va.) (13-13, 3-6) in a loss Oct. 20 in Big South Conference play against Presbyterian (9-15, 6-3), 3-0. For the season, the junior has 150 kills, 36 digs and six assists.

Brandi Schimming (Genoa 2011) compiled eight digs for No. 16 Owens C.C. against Columbus State C.C. For the season, the sophomore has 319 digs and 10 assists.

CROSS COUNTRY

Adam Smercina (Oak Harbor 2011) paced Toledo as the No. 4 scorer for the Rockets on Saturday at the Mid-American Conference Championships at Grand Island, N.Y. The sophomore placed 47th at 26:20.3 as the Rockets ended eighth with a score at 186. Eastern Michigan won the championship with a scoreof 59.
