After a disappointing first half, the Gulf Breeze girls basketball team turned it on in the second half, knocking off host Jay during the first day of the Jay Christmas Tournament.
The Dolphins scored 21 points during the final quarter after scoring 20 in the first three periods combined. Gulf Breeze was led by Nikki Morse's 16 points.
Savannah Nixon added 12 points and earned a double-double by pulling down 14 rebounds. Marie Meyering also pulled down double-digit rebounds with 12 boards and three assists in the win.

Makayla Simmons scored a game-high 30 points, and Central squeaked past Northview 46-43 at the Jay Christmas Tournament.
Simmons also pulled down 10 rebounds in the victory, while Haley Gauthier scored five points and added eight rebounds.
The Jaguars play their second game of the tournament at 5:45 p.m. today against Gulf Breeze.

Nadia Fingall had her ninth double-double of the season, and Navarre ran past Escambia 47-24.
Fingall, a freshman, finished with 15 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks, while teammate Lydia Brunet scored 13 points.
The game was the Raiders' last before the holiday break.

Taylor Kelly also scored in double digits, adding 10 points for the Royals.
Tournament play continues today for both teams. Pensacola Christian Academy will play Central at 4:30 p.m. Jay will face Northview at 7:30 p.m.

Neino Robinson scored 42 points, and Northview held off Central 75-68 at the Jay Christmas Tournament.
The victory keeps the Chiefs undefeated at 4-0. Northview plays again at the tournament today against Jay.
Nicholas Waters led the Jaguars with 26 points.
