The CIF Southern Section has removed the Shadow Hills High School girls' softball team from the postseason for a violation of playoff rules.

After Shadow Hills softball's stunning dismissal from postseason play by the CIF on Wednesday (see story, C1), two valley teams remain on the postseason diamond for the quarterfinals -- La Quinta softball and Desert Christian Academy baseball.
