Bay Barley gave Rush-Henrietta (N.Y.) a 57-54 win over Grace Athena with an "ESPN type of play" on Saturday.
With the score tied and only a few seconds remaining, Barley grabbed a rebound and headed up the court. Barley stumbled, but somehow managed to keep his dribble as he rolled over and launched a last-second heave from midcourt.
“I honestly had my eye on the basket the entire time,” Barley told the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. “I kept my dribble alive and just threw it. I didn’t know what to do. I was just happy to come out with the win.”
Barley was also happy to see his shot make No. 1 on SportsCenter's Top Plays.
“Guys were saying ‘that’s an ESPN type of play, that’s an ESPN type of play,'" Barley said after the game.
Those guys were right.
