Sharyland (Mission, Texas) sophomore Sean Landez returned the opening kickoff of Friday night's win over Edinburg North (Texas) 92 yards for a touchdown. The play paled in comparison -- both in difficulty and distance -- to what Landez would do next.
Later in the first half, Edinburg's Frank Padron was short on a 44-yard field goal attempt. Landez caught the ball 9.9 yards deep in the end zone, juuuuuuust managed to keep his balance and headed up the field. He didn't stop.
Landez got to the right sideline and raced 109.9 yards for an improbable touchdown.
“Just trying to make a play,” Landez told RGVSports.com. “My team was there to block all the guys.”
Landez didn't waste any time promoting his amazing return, which made SportsCenter's Top 10, on Twitter.
No big deal. Just trying to make a play -- one that may be equaled, but will never, ever be topped.
