South Hills (Calif.) senior and Hawaii commit David Denson won the Power Showcase in Miami last month by blasting 19 home runs, including one that was even more ridiculous than the scoreboard at Marlins Park.
Yes, Denson was using an aluminum bat, but the 6-foot-4, 252-pound first baseman launched his longest homer 515 feet and knocked three more off the scoreboard.
For comparison's sake, Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper hit a 502-foot homer in the same event at Tampa's Tropicana Field in 2009.
Last season, Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton broke the scoreboard at Marlins Park with a blast that was estimated at 438 feet.
