NBA Champion Miami Heat roster has five former All-USA players

Finals MVP LeBron James was a three-time selection and two-time Player of the Year

The Miami Heat captured its second NBA title on the strength of its Big Three -- LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

Eddy Curry and Juwan Howard didn't have much to do with the first of what Heat fans hope is several championships since the Big Three was formed, but both players were once stars in their own right.

Erik Spoelstra's roster includes five former USAT TODAY All-USA selections, which matches the 2007-08 Boston Celtics for the most on an NBA champion in the last 10 years. Here's a closer look at the Heat's (Once) Big Five and the All-USA selections on NBA title-winning teams since 2002.

LeBron James was named to the All-USA First Team as a sophomore at St. Mary-St. Vincent (Akron, Ohio) in 2001.

Eddy Curry, a star at Thornridge (South Holland, Ill.), was also named to the First Team that year. James earned Player of the Year honors in each of the next two years, while Curry began his mostly disappointing NBA career after the Bulls drafted him with the fourth overall pick in 2001.

Juwan Howard, who starred at Vocational (Chicago, Ill.), was named to the All-USA First Team in 1991 along with future Michigan teammate Chris Webber.

Shane Battier was named to the All-USA Second Team in 1997 after his senior year at Detroit Country Day School (Beverly Hills, Mich.).

Chris Bosh, who played at Lincoln (Dallas, Texas), was named to the All-USA Second Team in 2002.
