National High School Invitational field features six Super 25 boys teams

No. 19 Dr. Phillips headlines girls' side of the tournament

Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) will put its No. 1 ranking and unbeaten season to the test in the fifth annual National High School Invitational, April 4-6 at Georgetown Prep in Bethesda, Md.

The 34-0 Pilots, who won the NHSI last season, are the No. 1 team in the USA TODAY Super 25 boys basketball rankings. They are joined by No. 2 Montverde (Fla.) Academy, No. 4 St. Benedict's Prep (Newark), No. 5 Prime Prep (Dallas), No. 8 La Lumiere (La Porte, Ind.), No. 13 Blanche Ely (Pompano Beach, Fla.) and unranked Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) and Montrose Christian (Rockville, Md.). All of the games will be televised on various ESPN networks.

"The event is as loaded as it has ever been," said Findlay Prep coach Todd Simon. "The field is deep. It's going to be a spectacle of basketball. There are challenges for all the teams in terms of the layoff before the tournament. We have to figure out a way to practice like a championship team for the next three or four weeks."

The girls side of the tournament includes No. 19 Dr. Phillips (Orlando), along with unranked Dillard (Fort Lauderdale), Archbishop Spalding (Severn, Md.) and Life Center Academy (Burlington, N.J.).
