Texas high schooler smashes state record by bench pressing 700 pounds (VIDEO)

Matt Poursoltani set a state high school record with a bench press of 570 pounds last year. What would the Pilot Point (Texas) senior do for an encore at this year's state powerlifting meet? Oh, just another 130 pounds.

The Dallas Morning News reports that Poursoltani put up 700 pounds on Saturday, breaking his personal best of 670 pounds set at a regional meet last week.

Perhaps it's no surprise that Poursoltani, who is known as 'The Freak Show', has been asked by friends and teammates whether he uses steroids. He says his strength is all natural.

“If you need something to help you work out, you need to get out of the sport,” Poursoltani told the Morning News. “If you can’t drive yourself that hard to come in here and work out, then it’s probably just not for you.”
