University Lab (Baton Rouge, La.) sophomore pitcher Manny Miles threw a five-inning no-hitter Friday night in the 2A semifinals against top-seeded Calvary Baptist. The feat was especially sweet given that Miles' famous father, LSU football coach Les Miles, was in the crowd. Due to his busy schedule, the elder Miles had only seen three of his son's games.

“I love having my family behind me,” Manny Miles said after the game. “They’re my biggest supporters. They’ve been there for me when I’ve had bad years and when I’ve had good years. They’re always there.”

Miles (11-0) issued three walks in his second no-hitter of the season. After Evangel shut out University Lab, 2-0, in Saturday's championship game, the two-sport star turned the page on the baseball season.

Like father, like son.
