The Scoop: Jordan Brand recently unveiled its most progressive sneaker to date with the Air Jordan XX8.
Behind the all-black sleeve covering the exterior is the lightest and most performance-packed sneaker in the Air Jordan franchise. The shroud is made of a Swiss fabric that's used for premium motorcycling jackets. It not only adds a layer of support, but adds a radical element of style, too.
Fashioned by legendary sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield and Jordan Brand developer Josh Heard, the nontraditional design takes inspiration from a concept car and the silhouette from a military combat boot.
The shoe is built with the Jordan Flight Plate, which maximizes the responsiveness of the Zoom airbags in the heel and forefoot to protect your foot from intense pounding.
For lightweight lockdown, the shoe features an internal strap that wraps from the midsole and integrates with the laces.
The Air Jordan XX8 will release in Houston on February 15, 2013. The shoe will be available nationwide on February 16.
