It's still uncertain where Simeon (Chicago) basketball star and elite recruit Jabari Parker will be playing college basketball next year, but he will be playing college basketball.

"I know for a fact I'm going to college my first year," Parker said Friday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000.

Parker, a preseason American Family Insurance ALL-USA selection and the No. 2 senior in the ESPN 100, had left open the possibility of going on a Mormon mission before starting his college hoops career. Theoretically, Parker could go on a mission and enter the NBA Draft in 2015.

Parker has narrowed his list to five schools: BYU, Duke, Florida, Michigan State and Stanford. Parker has made official visits to the first four schools on his list and is planning on making an official visit to Stanford soon.

Parker, who broke a bone in his right foot over the summer, will miss Simeon's season opener on Saturday against Milton (Ga.), but his father said that he will play this season.
