The message was loud and clear for Jabari Parker this past weekend during his visit to BYU; Cougars fans want him bad. They showed that by handing out 6,300 shirts prior to BYU’s game against Cal State Northridge which read: “Chicago to Provo," according to ESPN.
The Salt Lake Tribune also reported that a student held a sign that read, “BYU — 15,994 Mormon girls, Duke — 13 Mormon girls."
Parker, who is ranked No. 2 in the ESPN 100, is a Mormon.
He will decide between BYU, Duke, Michigan State, Florida and Stanford.
Top wide receiver decommits
Fork Union Military Academy (Fork Union, Va.) wide receiver Ja’Quay Williams decommitted from Auburn Sunday night after taking an official visit to Georgia, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Williams, who is ranked No. 14 among wide receivers in the Rivals150, originally signed with Auburn last February.
Carr eclipses 2,000-point mark
Coming into his first game on Nov. 22, Princeton Day (Beltsville, Md.) point guard Aquille Carr needed just 10 points to reach 2,000 for his career. By the end of the game he’d scored 32 points and dished out 10 assists in a 79-77 win over New Hope Christian Academy (Thomasville, N.C.) in the Bull City Classic in Durham, N.C.
“I knew that I needed the 10 points and my teammates helped me get good shots,” said Carr, a Seton Hall commit who is widely regarded as one of the top players in the country. “I just went out there and went for it. I didn’t have to rush anything. We got it done together.”
