Oxford Webb senior and North Carolina commit Isaiah Hicks had the game of his life in Saturday's North Carolina High School Athletic Association boys basketball championship game against Statesville. Hicks, who fouled out with 19 seconds to play in overtime of Webb's 73-70 win, finished with 34 points, 30 rebounds and 7 blocks.
“We just didn’t foul him out early enough,” Statesville coach Sonny Schofield told the News & Observer. “What a fantastic performance.”

Webb coach Leo Brunelli was equally impressed.
“For him to put on a display like that wearing that Webb uniform for the last time – are you kidding me?” Brunelli said.
Hicks' 30 rebounds broke the record of 28 set by University of Miami center Reggie Johnson in 2008. News & Observer columnist Tim Stevens suggests that Hicks' performance may have been the greatest in a North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship game in any sport.
We won't argue that.
