High school football announcer correctly predicts touchdown

With Rockmart (Ga.) leading Douglass (Atlanta) 54-0 on Friday night, PlayOn! Sports color commentator R.J. Lewis predicted that Douglass would finally get on the board via a defensive touchdown.

"You've gotta go out on that limb," Lewis told his broadcast partner. "A bobbled snap, scoop it in for the score, it could happen."

Check out what happened next:

So it wasn't exactly a bobbled snap, but that's pretty impressive nonetheless.

"I do not have a crystal ball, I do not have a Magic 8 Ball, but that just happened," Lewis said.

Just in case you were wondering if Lewis was offering predictions before every play, I watched part of the full broadcast to confirm that he wasn't.

"And really, the only reason why I called it that way is because of the inexperience that was coming in for the Yellowjackets, switching out the upperclassmen for the underclassmen. It is what it is, I'm speechless."

Lewis did not predict the ensuing missed extra point in Douglass' 54-6 loss.

R.J., if you're reading, are you sure you don't have a crystal ball? I think there are a number of people on the East Coast who would like to know what it says about Hurricane Sandy.
