Goose Creek (S.C.), the No. 11 team in this week's Super 25 high school football rankings, has been disqualified from the state football playoffs.
High School League associate commissioner Dru Nix confirmed the ruling Tuesday to the Post and Courier, but would not offer a reason for the disqualification.
A message left for Goose Creek coach Chuck Reedy by USA TODAY Sports has not yet been returned. Goose Creek is expected to appeal the ruling on Wednesday.
The news caught the Goose Creek players, including senior linebacker Gerald Turner, by surprise.

The Gators were scheduled to play Spartanburg (S.C.) in a second-round playoff game on Friday after defeating Conway (S.C.), 48-7, last week.
