Formiglio becomes first female to play in Connecticut state title game

Norwich (Conn.) Free Academy lost to Middletown Xavier Academy in the Connecticut Class LL state title game on Friday, but the Wildcats managed to make some history in the process. More specifically, Elisa Formiglio made some history.

Formiglio, the NFA kicker, became the first female to play (and score) in a Connectictut state title game. Formiglio made two extra points and finished the season 61-of-71 on PATs.

Middletown's DeAngelo Berry rushed for 260 yards on 30 carries in the 48-14 win, which gave the undefeated Falcons their third consecutive state title.
