The Palm Beach Post reports that tonight's high school football game between Glades Central (Belle Glade, Fla.) and Miami Northwestern has been canceled.
“Due to unrest in the community, school police, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the area’s superintendent have canceled tonight’s game against Northwestern,” Glades Central co-athletic director Dennis Knabb told the Post.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Teri Barbera told the Post there was a shooting on Thursday night less than a mile from Glades Central High School, and the decision to cancel the game was made by the school district.
Miami Northwestern shared the news via Twitter.

Anthony Chiang of the Post later tweeted that school officials have looked into rescheduling the game rather than forcing Glades Central to forfeit.
