Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson is living his dream. Well, part of it anyway. Addressing reporters at a pre BCS Championship news conference, Golson said he hasn't given up hope of playing college basketball.
"My primary (focus) right now is football," Golson said. "But I would like to have the chance of playing basketball someday here."
Golson, a point guard in high school, helped lead Myrtle Beach (S.C.) to the 2008 Class AAA state championship, scoring 13 points in an 83-65 win over Greenville in the title game. You can watch Golson in action in the video above.
Golson averaged 19.6 points, 5.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds as a junior and initially committed to play football at the University of North Carolina, where he had talked to basketball coach Roy Williams about also playing hoops. If he leads the Fighting Irish to the BCS title, we're guessing he can play any other sport he wants in South Bend.
