After originally committing to Clemson, Peach County (Fort Valley, Ga.) wide receiver Demarcus Robinson made the switch to Florida after an in-home visit with head coach Will Muschamp.
But after letting things marinate for a week, Robinson, a senior, had another change of heart and went back to the Tigers on Monday, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Berry sidelined for another month
Lake Highland Prep (Orlando) point guard Joel Berry will be out at least another month after tearing his meniscus earlier this month during the Rotary Tip-Off Classic.
Berry, a junior who is ranked No. 3 among point guards in the ESPN 60, said he “hates” that he’ll have to sit out of the prestigious City of Palms Classic this week in Fort Myers, Fla., but he’s “more concerned with getting it taken care of so it won’t bother me later.”
“I figure it’s better to go ahead and take time off now and come back even stronger,” Berry said. “It will be hard to watch my team play against all of those great players, but I know I’m doing the right thing.”
Freshman has a big varsity debut
Carlisle School (Martinsville, Va.) center Thon Maker, a freshman, made quite the impression in his varsity debut with the Chiefs on Dec. 14. Maker scored 49 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and swatted five shots in the 79-66 win over Covenant (Charlottesville, Va.).
Maker is originally from Sudan. He’s 7-feet tall and weighs 200 pounds.
