Football coach Bob Ladouceur, who is 397-25-3 at De La Salle (Concord, Calif.), said he plans to step down at the end of this season or next season.

His teams have won 21 consecutive North Coast Section titles and three consecutive state Open Division I bowls. The Spartans set a national record with 151 consecutive wins from 1991 to 2004. Ladouceur has been the All-USA Coach of the Year five times, more than any other coach.
De La Salle has a chance at a fourth consecutive Open Division Bowl championship. With a win this week in the Northern California Open Division I bowl, the Spartans would advance to the state title game.
