The Scoop: The adiZero Prime sprint spike drops at a featherweight 3.5 ounces —light enough to make you feel like you’ve got nothing on your feet.
The bottom of the shoe is built with a stiff plate that’s half as thick as other sprint spikes. The plate is also designed with compression pins to help optimize and control forward power.
The upper portion of the spike features seamless construction, which keeps the foot comfortable and contributes to a barefoot feel.
The adiZero Prime, best suited for 60, 100 and 200 meters, drops online this month.
Watch the spike in action this Sunday as Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay gets set to sport a patriotic pair as he goes against world record holder Usain Bolt during the men’s 100 meter final.
