COPPELL, Texas (AP) — Grief counselors are at a North Texas school after a standout high school football player disappeared while diving from cliffs into a lake.
Search crews on Monday resumed looking for the body of 17-year-old Jacob Logan, a wide receiver for Coppell, which is ranked No. 17 in the Super 25 rankings. The senior was reported missing Sunday afternoon after not surfacing from Possum Kingdom Lake, about 80 miles west of Fort Worth.
Friends say Logan jumped from a cliff into the water, briefly resurfaced and then disappeared. Officials believe Logan had been with some other youths at a house near the lake.
Logan scored a touchdown Friday night as Coppell beat Hebron 29-3.
