Colorado Girls Cross Country ROY: Elise Cranny

THE WINNER: Elise Cranny


School: Niwot (Colo.)
Grade: Junior
Height: 5-foot-4

Athletic achievement: She raced to the Class 4A individual state championship this past season with a time of 18:41.3. Cranny also won the Nike Cross Nationals Southwest Regional championship in 16:59.9 and finished seventh nationally at the NXN Final, with a time of 19:43.

Academic excellence: Cranny has maintained 4.21 GPA in the classroom.

Exemplary character: A member of the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, she has volunteered locally on behalf of an area food bank. 


“Elise is always extremely humble, but her athletic accomplishments speak for themselves,” said Niwot head coach Sam Catterson. “What truly sets her apart are her leadership skills and her character.”

THE FUTURE: Cranny will begin her senior year of high school this fall.
