For two weeks, Jim Halley and Jason Jordan of USA TODAY High School Sports will take a look at the 10 high school boys basketball teams with a shot to be ranked as the preseason No. 1 team in the country. Next up, alphabetically, is Oak Hill Academy of Virginia.

Monday's Case: Chester, Pa.

Tuesday's Case: Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.)

Wednesday's Case: Huntington Prep (W.Va.)

Thursday's Case: Long Beach Poly (Calif.)

Friday's Case: Montverde (Fla.)

Today's Case: OAK HILL (Mouth of Wilson, Va.)

Why it should be No. 1: The Warriors don’t return any starters from last year’s national championship team that went 44-0, but this year’s crop certainly won’t lack for talent.

Nate Britt, a senior point guard who is committed to North Carolina, will run the show with seniors Sindarius Thornwell, a South Carolina commit, and high-flyer Troy Williams, an Indiana commit, filling the lanes.

Ike Iroegbu and R.J. Curington, both seniors, gave the Warriors solid minutes last season and will add depth to the backcourt.

Opposing teams better grab their track shoes because Oak Hill will likely have four guards on the floor most of the time. The Warriors are pests defensively with this lineup, which will create plenty of turnovers and transition scoring opportunities.

Senior forward Lennard Freeman and Rokas Gustys, a junior forward, will anchor the paint.

“I really like that we’re versatile,” Oak Hill coach Steve Smith said. “We can play quick and we can play in the halfcourt, but we like to play fast. We’ll win a lot of games, but we’ll be in every game. That’s all you can ask for.”

Player Sound-Off: Troy Williams, senior, forward: “We’re practically unstoppable. We’ve got the best backcourt with myself, Nate Britt and Sindarius Thornwell. Not to mention a top notch coach. Plus, we’re super athletic this year. We’re gonna run a lot of people out the gym. We’ve got a lot of scorers on our team. I definitely feel like we’re No. 1.”
