When a few of her Northwest (Prairie Rhonde, La.) classmates suggested that Brittany Lindon join the school's football team, she didn't think twice. If she was going to remain on the team, however, she didn't want it to be as a stinkin' kicker.
"I really tried to talk her out of playing fullback and to just kick for us," Raiders coach Darnell Lee told the Daily Advertiser. "But she told me, 'No, I want to run with the football.' I was just like ,'OK.'"
The 5-foot-4, 190-pound Lindon, who says she "wasn't feeling" the kicking game, throws the shot put and discus for Northwest's track and field team, and also plays basketball. She's a natural at fullback, too.
"When you give her the football, she hits the hole," Lee said. "She is not the average size girl. I mean she is about 5-4 with really big and strong legs."
Lindon made her debut in the fourth quarter of Northwest's 49-0 win over Jeanerette on Friday. At least one person in the stands noticed that there was a girl on the field:

A few days later, Lindon made the sports section:

Perhaps the end zone is next.
