Weekend Rewind: Bergen Catholic scores crazy touchdown on WR handoff

3:49 PM, Nov. 05, 2012 EST

Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) held off Friendship Collegiate Academy (Washington, DC), 48-42, on Saturday, thanks in part to an incredible touchdown that shall, thanks to YouTube uploader Ralph LaTesta, henceforth be known as #theplay.

Facing heavy pressure, Bergen Catholic QB Joe Germano manages to find wide receiver J.J. Kulcsar, who makes a leaping catch at the 10-yard line. Kulcsar stays on his feet and drags his defender inside the five before another Friendship Collegiate Academy defensive back attempts to wrestle him to the ground. Before his knee hits the ground, Kulcsar somehow manages to hand the ball off to teammate James Dawson, who walks into the end zone for the score.

But was Kulcsar's knee down before he got rid of the ball? Was his forward progress stopped? For the sake of this wacky play, we're glad the ref didn't think so, but we can't help but feel for Friendship Collegiate Academy.

Twisting TD
This touchdown reminds us of the barrel roll Indianapolis Colts running back Vick Ballard did against the Tennessee Titans two weeks ago. Props to Trabuco Hills (Calif.) running back Alex staff on the acrobatic score against San Clemente (Calif.).

Sticky Fingers
Chaparral (Scottsdale, Ariz.) senior Jake Roh puts an exclamation point on the Firebirds' 45-7 win over Perry (Gilbert, Ariz.) on Friday with an incredible tip-drill interception. In case you were wondering, Roh also plays wide receiver and caught a touchdown earlier in the game.

Are You Kidding Me?
From the same game, Perry's only score was half-disaster, half-miracle.

Botched PAT Leads to 2-Point Conversion
One point is good, two points are better. Credit Valley Center (Calif.) kicker Michael McInerney with the heads-up play following a botched snap.

Sergio Romo
In case you missed it, San Francisco Giants closer and World Series hero Sergio Romo dropped by his high school alma mater on Friday -- in a helicopter.
