Beach Channel coach delivers passionate pregame speech

School was devastated by Hurricane Sandy

Warning: The video below includes profanity.

Good luck making it through this pregame speech without getting choked up. The speech was given by Beach Channel (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) coach Victor Nazario before his team took the field for a playoff game last Saturday against Port Richmond (Staten Island, N.Y.).

Nazario gets emotional as he talks about everything his players endured in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, which devastated the school's Rockaways neighborhood. The team's locker room flooded, the Dolphins had practiced only twice since the storm at another high school and they weren't fielding a full squad.

"If this is the last game that we play, I'm extremely proud of you guys," Nazario says. "Everything that you've accomplished, that you've endured, it's ridiculous that you even thought about playing this one for me."

Beach Channel lost, 38-6, but the players won't soon forget the pregame message from their coach.
